1887-89 and 1905. A Dublin Clergyman's Daughter - Diaries. manuscript, 4 volumes 4 diaries with daily entries from January 1887 - December 1889 & for the year 1905. The contents outline the writer's daily activities including attending concerts at the R.D.S. Leinster Hall, the Royal, the Antient Concert Rooms as well as attending Mrs. Tourneaux for music classes and practice.. Among those mentioned are Mrs. Meredith, Mrs. Carton, Ella, Miss Casey, Mrs. Goodman. Mrs. Maunsell, A. Stanfield's (Cappagh), Dr. Sheppard, Julia Doughty (who died on Jan 30th 1905), Miss Collier (who died 25th Aug 1887), Mrs. Fredericks, Hobson's, Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. Maunsell, Miss Pilkington, Streatfields, Mrs. Meredith etc.. There is quite a bit of reference to visits to St Mageoghs, Cappagh, Mulhuddart & Dunshaughlin. A factual diary encapsulates 4 years in the life of a Dublin Clergyman's daughter and her rather cosseted, privileged & structured lifestyle which reflects the position & orientation of the Dublin Protestant middle classes at the time.
