1916 An Original Photograph of Pearse's Surrender

1916 (29 April) An Original Photograph of PH Pearse's Surrender to General Lowe. sepia print 8 by 6cm., 3.2 by 2.4in. A very rare original print of this well known photograph. Pearse surrenders to General William Henry Muir Lowe (1861-1944) accompanied by his son, in the light coloured breeches, Captain John Lowe (who later became a Hollywood actor under the name John Loder). Pearse was accompanied by Nurse Elizabeth O'Farrell whose boots can be seen in the photograph.
