1921 (August - September) Ballykinlar Internment Camp, Co. Down, Autograph Book. leatherbound album; manuscript of 48pp 15 by 10cm., 6 by 4in. Compiled by Volunteer John Crowe of Cratloe, Co. Clare (344 - no. 1 camp, Hut. 21 B-Coy). Signatures include Seamus na Dubhgail TD, Micheál Ó h-Aodh TD, Liam MacSioguird TD, Seán Mulroy TD, and about 50 other prisoners. On his release Crowe was injured when a stone throwing crowd at Portadown attached the train carrying the freed internees. He was treated at Dundalk Station by a lady who kept his handkerchief, covered in blood. With this lot is a letter dated 1957 from that lady's son to John Crowe, as she, now aged 82, wished to return the item.
