Circa 1910-1930. A collection of over 200 Photographs in Albums. 6 by 9cm., 2.5 by 3.5in. Over 200 photographs that capture the lives and exploits of this Irish family on holiday at different periods between 1908 and 1930. Most of the photographs approx 3 x 2 inches (8 x 5 cm) and include the family and friends at different places in Ireland including Ballynakill Bay Connemara, Ballyconneely, Marble Quarry near Clifden, Shanbolard, Kylemore Lakes, Lough Inagh, Co. Galway; Clonmass (Donegal), Clonmass island, Lackagh Bridge, Drumlackagh Donegal, Sessiagh (Tyrone), Westcove Hotel, Cahirciveen, Derrynane, Valentia Island, Reenellen, Portsalon, Rathmullen, Fahan in Lough Swilly County Donegal, Lisheens, Bundoran; Lareen (Leitrim), Courtown Harbour (Wexford), & Glendalough (Wicklow). Three albums include scenes from Ireland & one consists of images from a holiday England - Cornwall Most of the photographs are captioned. Among those referred to are Lady Gregory, David Sayers, a girl named Cerise. Interestingly T.W. Lyster is also pictured. He was Librarian at the National Library of Ireland (1895-1920), was friendly with the Yeats family and contributed to many articles and publications. An interesting collection worth inspection and research.
