Late 19th Century petition to the Stewards of The Turf Club by Irish owners and trainers. cloth gilt bound, printed on Vellum 28pp 34 by 20cm., 13.5 by 8in. The petition seeks a licence for flat racing at The Phoenix Park on the Thursday of Punchestown week. Approximately 300 names and addresses of owners and trainers, a veritable "who's who" in Irish flat racing of the time, lavishly produced on vellum and expensively bound. Probably unique.
