Jack B. Yeats. APPARITIONSinscribed by the author to "Miss S. H. Purser with all kind thoughts, Dublin June 19th 1933" original blue cloth and printed dust jacket 158pp 20 by 14cm., 8 by 5.5in. Ill. Jack B. Yeats. London: Cape, 1933. First Edition. Sarah H. Purser (1848-1943) was an Irish artist and promoter of the arts in Ireland. Scarce. It is likely that Yeats presented this book to Purser on the occasion of the opening of the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Dublin (formerly Charlemont House), as this was the date that the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Dublin was officially opened. Situated on Parnell Square the gallery is now named the Hugh Lane Gallery.
