Korean Kyonggi Ironwork Bandaji Chest 19th C.

Rare, large bandaji chest heavily decorated with thick hand-wrought-iron openwork of floral scrolls and symbols with an excellently modified interior consisting of an added shelf, above a large drawer with exterior panels, and a hidden compartment beneath the drawer, and includes an old fish lock representing eternal vigilance, wood, Kyonggi province, Korea, nineteenth century; Skinner's auction house lot sticker on side panel.

Dimensions: 38-1/2"H x 42"W x 21"D

Overall very good, occasional scratching and marks on exterior and interior surface; light wear.
