Korean Pine and Iron Ton-kwe Coin Chest 19th C.

Coin chest or Ton-kwe constructed of an especially fine and thick Korean pine and thick ironwork, Korea, ca. nineteenth century; unmarked. Ton-kwe (Korean Coin Chests) are highly prized by collectors, as their purpose required that they be the heaviest and most well constructed piece of furniture in the home.

Dimensions: 16-1/4"H x 36"W x 18"D
