Large Japanese Carved Ivory Group, Meiji period (1868-1912), the elaborately carved and pierced hollow bone group depicting a flock of cranes in an oriental pine on one facade and a phoenix amidst flowers on the opposing facade, presented on a custom-carved mahogany base of oval quadrupedal form, h. 16-1/4", w. 5", d. 3-3/4".
Condition reportLarge Japanese Carved Ivory Group: Small loses to ivory in four places. Base with a 1" loss to molded edge.
