Japanese Meiji Samurai Sword and Scabbard, first quarter 20th century, of elaborately carved ivory and steel in "Noble Gentlemen" decor, the hilt and guard also of carved ivory, presented on a custom ebonized and silver wire-inlaid stepped mahogany stand, sword l. 27".
Condition reportJapanese Meiji Samurai Sword and Scabbard: The ivory handle is loose from the sword and can be pulled off with ease. It needs to be re-cemented. It also appears that the original plug at the base of the handle has been replaced with a piece of wood. The plug at the end of the scabbard is gone.
