Pair of Napoleon III Polychromed and Parcel-Gilt Sidechairs, third quarter 19th century, each with a slightly domed floral-carved crest above a shaped horizontal splat, joined by imbricate carved uprights, the rounded seat raised on molded cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes, h. 32", w. 17", d. 16".

Pair of Napoleon III Polychromed and Parcel-Gilt Sidechairs: Scattered flaking to surface paint; gilding worn; both chairs have old glue repairs to aprons at two front joints; one chair with a crack in the apron; on one, small flake chip to two of the patera carvings on apron, on the other, small chip to the simplified patera decoration of the backside of the apron; minor scattered age-related surface scratches. Attractively aged and in good condition.
