Continental Chinoiserie Red-Lacquered Desk, early 20th century, the canted rectangular top with a heavily molded edge and recessed center section above a conforming case filled with a single frieze drawer flanked to either side by a small drawer over a paneled cupboard door, each opening to an upper drawer and lower open space, raised on bun feet, the whole with gilt and polychromed accents in the chinoiserie manner, h. 34-1/2", w. 46", d. 23".

Continental Chinoiserie Red-Lacquered Desk: In good "as found" condition. Most of the decorated and lacquered surface is intact. There are some scattered blemishes and chipping to the under-gesso with some paint loss to these areas. A few of these have been touched in with red paint. Wear to the front edge molding from use. A shrinkage crack to the left side. Good color and great patina.
