Good George III Sterling Silver Hot Water Urn, hallmarked London, 1794-1795, by Henry Chawner, the ovoid body decorated with a band of floral panels and rosettes on a hatched ground, with opposing arched, palmette-mounted, reeded handles, the down-turned reeded spout with ivory pyriform handle, the waisted lid with urn-shaped finial and opening to an interior billet chamber, the whole presented on a waisted standard above a plinth base and four applied palmette feet, engraved, twice on the body, with the arms of Pitts of Kentshire with the Trewile badge of pretence, h. 20-3/4", w. 11-3/4", d. 10-1/2", 80.57 t. oz.
Condition reportGood George III Sterling Silver Hot Water Urn: There is a slight crimp to the front shirt edge of the base just above and to the right of the front left foot. A very small pin head size ding above the spiggot. Some similar small dings on the back side as well. No sign of significant damage or repairs.
