Rare Set of Ten Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Dinner Plates, fourth quarter 18th century, made for the American trade, the arms displaying an American eagle clutching an olive branch in its left talons and a brace of arrows in its right, dia. 9-1/8". A similar set of Chinese Export "American Eagle" plates is in the collection of the White House, Washington, D.C.
Condition reportRare Set of Ten Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Dinner Plates: Very minor imperfections in the glaze. Edges slightly irregular (but not due to chipping) with loss to gilding. Loss to paint area on the rim of one of the plates , less than 1/3" in diameter. Slightly dirty.
