Condition reportJohn Neagle (American, 1796-1865) "Portrait of Mrs. Negus and Her Granddaughter Susan Negus": Painting appears to have been cleaned and re-varnished within the last ten years. Black light indicates very minor inpainting touch ups in upper right corner and one minor spot in the ladies dress. (In upper right corner, two dots and one 3/4" line, in dress one dot.) There are no patches, tears or crackleure frame is original and has been restored, but there is minor damage to top curl in upper right corner and minor rubs to edge of frame. Stretcher keys are new.
