Good Suite of Eight American Late Classical Figured Mahogany Dining Chairs, of gondola form, consisting of a pair of sidechairs, second quarter 19th century, and six later chairs, early 20th century, each with a curved crest and downswept sides around a baluster-form splat, the padded seat raised on saber legs, h. 34".

Good Suite of Eight American Late Classical Figured Mahogany Dining Chairs: One of the period chairs has old repairs to the back where the back posts meet the crest rail. There is a loose piece of wood at the lower back. A small section to the front apron lip gone at the right top edge. The other period chair has a repair to the top of the right rear leg. Minor imperfections from age and use. Of the six later chairs one of the side chairs has repaired breaks to the back posts. All are sturdy. Good figured wood.
