Monumental French Brass-Mounted Porcelain Bowl

Monumental French Brass-Mounted Porcelain Centerpiece Bowl, fourth quarter 19th century, of oval form in the Louis XVI Sevres style, the porcelain bowl of bleu du Roi ground with the facade bearing a richly gilded and polychromed galants reserve in the manner of Watteau, the reverse with a view of distant mountains beyond a sylvan glade, the interior of the foot with a pseudo-Sevres interlaced L's mark in blue, h. 18-1/2", w. 22", d. 12-1/2".

Monumental French Brass-Mounted Porcelain Centerpiece Bowl: In fine overall condition. No evidence of any damage or repairs. Some tarnishing to the metal mounts from age with a good overall patina. The painted scene and gilt decor in excellent condition and good detail.
