Pair of French Gilt-Brass-Mounted Porcelain Garniture Vases, first quarter 20th century, in the Sevres taste, of small, two-handled, covered form with rose Pompadour grounds, each facade with a shield-form reserve featuring a floral spray and a butterfly, the reverses with neoclassical "Eros" reserves, the handles of leonine masque form with pendant oblong links, h. 13".
Condition reportPair of French Gilt-Brass-Mounted Porcelain Garniture Vases: Heavy scattered loss of gilding on the vases, as well as raised blue dot-like decoration on the lids and around the painted scenes. Both lids with a few small flake chips. On one, loss of pink painting in several spots. One 2" long thin scratch to the front decoration on the same vase. Minor small dings to brass.
