American Louis XVI Revival Ebonized Pedestal, third quarter 19th century, the shaped ovoid top with an ormolu annulated band, raised on a tall urn-form standard to a molded circular base with like ormolu bands, the whole with gilt accents and decorative ormolu mounts, h. 38", w. 17-1/2", d. 16-1/4".
Condition reportAmerican Louis XVI Revival Ebonized Pedestal: In as found condition. Some rubs, scuffs and wear along the edges of the moldings. Some wear to the gilding at the incised areas. No sign of damage to the wood or repairs. All of the gilt brass ornaments are present. The top deck retains its original velvet cloth but is heavily worn and stained. Surface appears original throughout.
