Good American Classical Carved Giltwood, Plaster and Eglomise Bipartite Looking Glass, second quarter 19th century, the upper panel eglomise floral painted, each corner of the frame with a carved giltwood leaf cluster, h. 44", w. 24".
Condition reportGood American Classical Carved Giltwood, Plaster and Eglomise Bipartite Looking Glass: The corners have scattered chips to their tips and shrinkage cracks. The gilded surface looks like it has old touch-ups, but most of the gilding appears to be under the painted areas. The reverse-painted scene looks original as well.
