Description
K-79 - Early Masonic Encampment sword. Gilt brass plumed knight's helmet pommel, chain knuckle-bow, "bones" crossguard and large open "clamshell" guard bearing two triangles and a laurel wreath. Shaped "polished" black wood grip. 30" elliptical blade with a narrow center fuller. Panel with etched name "Lyman Dike". Reverse etched "Hugh de Payens Encampment". Made by "C. ROBY & CO. - W. CHELMSFORD MASS.". Some small age spotting - but basically clean. Two-ring brass scabbard etched with floral motifs and applied band bearing a snake entwined on a red cross. Circa 1860.
