K-86 - Masonic 8-piece officer's parade set with sword: (1) Black long jacket with nine velvet covered buttons and embroidered silver/red crosses on each cuff. White enameled Maltese Cross with U.S. eagle center, on a black ribbon, pinned on chest. (2) Elaborate officer's parade fore-and-aft hat with black feathers (marked "AMES SWORD CO."), large silver embroidered red cross, etc. (3) Office''s cap - silver chinstrap with embroidered silver bullion red cross and silver Maltese Cross buttons. (4) Shoulder "baldrich" with a large silver cross, gold cross/gold snake and cross (under glass dome) on silver starburst with an 8 1/2" gold "dagger" attached. (5) Apron with large skull, crossbones and crossed swords. Long black ribbon ties. (6) "Custer" style leather gauntlets with large gold embroidered red crosses. (7) Dress sword with heavily silvered knight's helmet pommel, triangle shape stars decorated quillons, with a crowned rooster in center. Stylized silver cross on black wood handle with a chain knuckle-bow. 30 1/4" straight elliptical shaped blade with name of owner "CHARLES BURNSIDE CHASE", knights with flags and floral work. Reverse has same engraving with "TRINITY COMMANDRY K.T. DEC. 12, 1905". Three-ring black leather scabbard with silver plated throat engraved with "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES", cross and serpent, center and tip.
