L-3 - German WWI photo album of a member of a frontline artillery unit. Unusual in that all photographs are numbered and identified with the location, names of subjects, weapons are identified, the family billeting the troops is identified, and even the names of the horses are stated. An excellent view of the soldier's life which includes field scenes, artillery pieces, comrades, body armor being used, Iron Cross recipients, transporting weapons, caissons, families in occupied France, a city's jubilee celebration (Zeppelin visible above the town buildings), etc. 114 photos. Also with photos of convalescing soldiers and 2 aerial photographs of the battle at Cambrai. An excellent visual presentation of the warfront. II.....$250.00
