Artist's note: "This work is mica, granite, sandstone, set in gesso. It should be handled carefully like a piece of fine furniture. The frame has been made especially strong. If a small piece of mica drops off, it will in no way detract from the work." A New Mexican artist, Gibberd studied with many artists, including Emil Bisttram. He has an extensive exhibition history and his work is held in the collections of many museums. [18948]
