WONDERFUL PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED BOX. Attributed to Berks County. Pine with dovetailed case and pegged base. Original paint with dry, slightly alligatored surface in red and black on a cream ground. The sides have tulips and star medallions with squiggled centers resembling marbelizing. The ends have compass flowers and the slide lid has corner fans, tulips and a large star medallion. Dated on the end "1792". Wear and minor edge damage. 11 1/4"w. 8"d. 4 1/4"h.
