GROUP OF FIFTEEN SILVER COINS FROM THE "CONCEPTION"
Mexican. Prior to 1642. Coin Set No. 12. With set and individual certificate of authenticity. In wood presentation case.
Note: The Spanish ship "Nuestra Senora de la Pura y Limpia Conception" sailed on July 23, 1641 from Vera Cruz, mexico to Spain with a flotilla of thirty ships. Caught in a hurricane, the Conception suffered severe damage and sank off the coast of Hispaniola. On November 28, 1978 Burt D. Webber discovered the wreck yielding a treasure trove of silver, gold, astrolabes, porcelains and various silver objects. (10000/15000)
