corner cupboard, single-case construction, yellow pine throughout with red, white and blue painted surface (the paint was restored by Ned Hipp, based on the nearly identical cupboard at MESDA), arched glazed upper door opening to deeply scalloped fixed shelves and flanked by pilasters over two paneled doors and shelved interior, bracket feet, white-painted interior, retains some early glass, Accomack County or Northampton County, Virginia, 1750-1775, 81-3/4 x 41 x 21 in. Excellent condition overall, front skirt possibly missing central drop, paint restored, top element of cornice molding replaced, minor molding repairs and one replaced foot facing element, other shrinkage, wear and abrasions consistent with age and use, paint restored by Ned Hipp, Bethania, North Carolina, based on the nearly identical cupboard at MESDA.
