Description

blue decoration depicting a trader smoking a pipe and leaning on a tobacco barrel surrounded by palm trees over cartouche with "No 11", base with blue marks, now mounted as lamp (not drilled), Dutch, 18th century, 9-3/4 in., 21 in. to top of lamp mount. Normal glaze wear and pitting, some adhesive residue, lacking lid and now fitted with modern brass lamp fitting. Provenance: Formerly in the Collection of Charles F. Montgomery.
