dovetailed construction with sliding lid above dovetailed drawer, white pine throughout, hand-wrought nails, probably Piedmont, North Carolina, early 19th century, 6-1/4 x 6-1/4 x 7-3/4 in., with nine small candles. Overall alligatored surface, minor losses and chip to surface, crack from top dovetailed across both sides.
