This rug is distinctive in the dark red and blue colors contrasted by ivory soft green and brown using dyes of plant origin. The foundation is usually cotton with thin tight piles of wool. The weavers of Hamadan rugs favor geometric designs to decorate these high quality long lasting rugs.
