Description
Roman Imperial, ca. 3rd-4th Century A.D. Yellow-green in color, blown with a squat spherical body on an applied ring foot, with a cylindrical neck separated by a ring-disk, funnel-shaped mouth, the body with spiral ribbing, with twin handles and applied collar on the neck. 6 3/8" (16.2cm) T. Similar in Ancient Glass from the G. Sangiorgi Collection, no. 187. For a similar spiral patterned body, see: Ancient Glass in the Carnegie Museum, no. 215.
PROVENANCE: Formerly in a Canadian Private Collection formed between 1960-1980, acquired through Iegor De Saint Hippolyte.

Condition
Some repair to the base of the handles, at the connection to the body, and below the cylindrical neck. The base ring also repaired. Traces of glue once applied for restoration.
