John Adams Signs Four Times in an Autograph Document

JOHN ADAMS.
Autograph Document Signed, “John Adams” FOUR TIMES, both within the text and at the end of this 2-1/2 page document, 13” x 8”, Fine or better. This is the appointment of John Adams, Samuel Niles, and Jonathan Bass to sell certain “North Common Lands” in the town of Braintree, Massachusetts. The paper shows light, fairly uniform age toning, some chips and paper loss on the final page. A small hole appears above Adam’s final signature and a fold affects the capital A of his last name. Any Adams ALS or ADS is a treasure, but to find one with four signatures is a collector’s delight. This special document is housed in a magnificent, hinged frame that shows both sides of the letter, a matted image of Adams and a transcript of the document. The framing alone probably cost $500 or more.
