Important Nautical Whalebone Cane-Circa 1865-A massive carved and inlaid nautical cane, architecturally designed and carved by a wonderful craftsman, handle has eight panels of mother of pearl and two mother of pearl eyelets, two baleen spacers and a tortoise inlaid disc atop. The whalebone shaft has inlaid mother of pearl pyramids and diamonds which have a wonderful patina of yesteryear. Original stains can still be seen on the whalebone shaft and it has a brass and iron ferrule-H. 9½" x 1 5/8", O.L. 35"-$5,000-$6,000
