Rookwood mug with a nicely done portrait of a collie dog painted by E.T. Hurley in 1933. We have seen a few yellow tinted pieces from this period which are done exactly like Standard glaze pieces from 25 years before. I think "Standard Glaze Revival" would be a good name for them. This one bears the company logo and date, shape number 587 C and the incised initials of Mr. Hurley. Height 4 5/8 inches. Uncrazed and a portrait that would make Lassie proud.
