828. Screen-used oil painting of Lionel Barrymore as "Capt. Bering Joy" from Down to the Sea in Ships. (TCF, 1949) This painting is prominently displayed in Captain Joy's house. Joy's grandson (Dean Stockwell) sees it and recognizes it as a picture of his father who drowned trying to save his ship. Art measures 25 in. x 31 in. (overall dimensions are 31 ½ in. x 37 ½ in. – frame is not from the film). In fine condition.
