BLACK FOREST WOOD CARVING CANISTER JAR: FOX & HARE

An impressive 19th century Black Forest double figure wood carved tobacco jar or canister in the form of a Fox and Hare. The fox is holding an umbrella and the Hare a cane. Overall measurements: 20 1/2" tall, by 11" wide and 8" deep. Condition: Shaft of umbrella broken and reglued, repair to lower arm of rabbit and lower edge of cane. Several small losses to the edge of the umbrella. Base with some normal age splits at edges. Sounds much worse than appears. See images. Weight 5 lbs.
