Jesse & Frank James Family Photo Album

The items listed in this auction as well as five antique firearms were found in an around the trunk which was hidden in a barn on Jesse's Uncle's farm near Stamping Grounds, Kentucky. The trunk remained hidden in a dark corner under a deteriorating pile of hay for over 110 years before its discovery in 1998. These items are now up for sale in separate lots. This album contains photos of family, friends, Civil War figures, and other unknown individuals. Twenty eight photos in all, some being tin type and others cards, are in the album which was discovered in a bookstrap behind the trunk which contained the other articles of the James' in the sale.

Most of these photos have not been positively identified. Some preliminary identifications have been made by photo comparison of historically known photos of individuals of importance to the James family. Any information you would like to share concerning the identification of any photo is welcomed! All efforts have been made to identify photos as accurately as possible. This photo album is being sold as one lot,all contents are original. No authentication is expressed or implied as to the identification of photographs. Condition: The photo album is in fair condition due to age. The binding is not solid but is majorily still intact. Some pages are loose, and many page frames have been torn, due to age and due in part to removing photos for further inspection. The photos are all in good condition, with very few flaws of any kind. Fading is minimal, due to their being kept in the book and out of sunlinght for so long.
