GRACE COOLIDGE, First Lady, Wife of “Silent Cal.”
Autograph Letter Signed, “Grace Coolidge”, in black ink on White House stationery, February 28, 1928, Washington, D.C., 7” x 4.5”, 3 pages, Choice Very Fine. Letter to Mrs. Sophia M. Walker thanking her for keeping the Coolidges in her thoughts and prayers especially as Mrs. Coolidge’s mother enters her eleventh week in the hospital. For her "fine personal influence exerted as First Lady of the Land," Grace Coolidge received a gold medal from the National Institute of Social Sciences. In 1931 she was voted one of America's twelve greatest living women. Included is the original transmittal envelope. (2 items)
