1776, “Observations on the Nature of Civil Liberty, the Principles of Government, and the Justice and Policy of the War with America,” by Richard Price, Printed for E. and C. Dilly and T. Cadell, London, England, Very Fine.
Rebound booklet, with marbled covers and gold lettering on the spine, 8.5” x 5.25”, 48 pages. Price’s vehement support for American independence is shown in this pamphlets that circulated widely at home and in America. He is best known for his vigorous defense of both the American and the French Revolutions. Soon after “Observations” publication, he quickly became the preeminent English thinker on American constitutional and economic issues. Formerly a library book of the Kansas City Public Library with plate on pastedown and inked stamp on preface leaf. The title page has browned, some corners are turned, but it is still in very fine condition. Howes P586; American Independence 76-118h.
