
An Egyptian Ushabti for Amenemope
Description
21st Dynasty, ca. 1069-945 BC. Rich blue glaze with details in darker glaze, holding two hoes and a seed basket at the back, with striated wig and a single vertical column of inscription at the front reading: The Osiris, the god's father of Amun, Amenemope justified. Height: 9.9 cm (4-7/8 H), 13.4 cm (5-3/8") with base.
Provenance: Ex-late Mr Ivan Traugott, Sweden, a close friend to the King of Sweden, thereafter Estate of Robert Kenyon, Utah acquired from the Ancient Arts Gallery, NY in the1958 and then by descent. Shabti still resides in original box from sale and this will be included (documentation on the sale (as shown in photograph 5) will also be included.

Small cosmetic restoration to upper left eyebrow and forehead otherwise intact and in extremely fine condition. Glue mounted on custom base.
