40: An Egyptian Double-Sided Bes
Late-Ptolemaic, ca. 26th-30th Dynasty, 664-30 B.C. Dark-green turquoise glazed composition faience amulet depicting the dwarf god Bes, shown standing on a rectangular base, originally wearing the crown of plumes, his tail reaching to the base, a suspension hole at the side of the head. 2-1/8" (5.3cm).
Headdress missing, otherwise intact.
