Hellenistic Period, ca. 2nd century B.C. A fine, well-preserved fragment of a statuette carved in alabaster, representing Aphrodite draped in a chiton clinging to her body revealing her left breast, her himation suspended behind her back and partly draped over her raised left arm, and a tress of hair falling on her bare left shoulder. Height 7".
Provenance: Ex-English private collection acquired on the London market in 1975.
