Description
Rome, ca. 1st-2nd Century A.D. Translucent dark-blue glass. Blown, the pyxis with cylindrical sides and inverted rim, a thick rib running below the rim and one at the base, the flanged cover with a knop finial. Probably from Syria. Height of pyxis: 2-3/4" (7.1cm) , Height of cover: 1-5/8" (4cm); Overall Height: 3-7/8" (9.7cm).
