Signed, inscribed, and dated "F. Amorsolo/Manila - 1937" l.l., inscribed
"Lt. Clark,/Nude Rice Plants" in pencil on the reverse u.r.
Oil on canvasboard, 18 1/2 x 13 in. (47.0 x 33.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Surface grime.

N.B. The artist's daughter, Sylvia Amorsolo Lazo, provided a verbal authentication of this lot based on photographs. In an email Ms. Lazo wrote, "...the brushstrokes and signature can be identified as his. The handwriting at the back of the painting 'Lt Clark'/ 'Nude Rice Plants' is his own. Lt. Clark must have been the person to have commissioned the painting from my father. My father had placed a short description of the painting as 'Nude Rice Plants.'"

Condition: Two very minor paint losses center right side.
