A rare copy of The Amazing Spider-Man, issue #1, published March 10, 1963. Shows some damage to lower edges of the front cover and other wear commensurate with age. The first comic book devoted solely to Spiderman came out March 10, 1963. It was an entire issue starring the web-slinging wonder, written by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko. He had previously appeared in 1962 as an auxiliary character in Amazing Fantasy issue, #15. Spider-Man was a popular and commercial success from the start, with his super powers and “spidey-sense”, but also with his humanity, vulnerability and personal struggles. The character is still enormously popular, and it started with this comic book, issue #1.
