Brass eagle fireplace chenets, 19th c.

Pair of brass and iron figural chenets, cast in the form of eagles with applied bee decorations at base and spiral turned feet. Condition: Some minor corrosion. 10"H x 11"W x 3"D. Probably French, 19th century. Displayed in the Library fireplace at Belle Meade Mansion for several years. Deaccessioned by Historic Belle Meade Plantation; proceeds to benefit the restoration of the collection. .
