French cuirass armor 1865 curass

Description

R-8 French brown age-toned cuirass. High vertical center ridge down front and six domed brass studs along perimeter. Inside bottom rim is arsenal marked and dated “1865”. Matching backplate with 30 brass studs on borders and wide brass “fishscale” straps with ”key” extension “tongues” – with leather tabs. Leather backing on both straps is split, however, brass scales fit properly – and for display appears perfect. Original coarse cloth lining. II
