Two-Day Marine Chronometer by William Bond & Son, Boston, No. 541, with 4-inch dia. silvered brass dial inscribed William Bond & Son, Boston, No. 541, Roman numerals, UP-DOWN indicator and seconds dial below, gilt spade hour and minute hands, blued-steel indicator and seconds, screw fit glazed bezel engraved on the dial reflector, Wm. Bond & Sons Break Circuit and USA, brass gimbal and bowl, chain drive 3/4 spotted plate fusee movement with maintaining power, two arm split bi-metallic balance, helical hairspring and break circuit attachment on movement and bowl in a two-tier rosewood and brass-bound box with mother-of-pearl plaque marked Wm. Bond and Son, Boston and carrying handles together with the original walnut padded transport box.

Condition



Condition: No significant repairs, replacements or restoration, break circuit elements appear to be complete, brass hardware in old lacquer, leather strap only partially there on outer carrying box, lacking a tipsey key.
