Born in 1901, Jiri Kratky was the son of Frantisek Kratky (1851 - 1924), a famous early Czech photographer, who specialized in landscape and genre photography at the turn of the century. From early on Jiri worked in his father's portrait studio and he mainly took portraits, nudes and landscapes. He is thought to have died young, making his prints very rare. This large impressive print is an excellent example of his work. - A rich tonal print in near excellent condition.
