A mahogany throne chair, in the style of an early 19th century German Thronsessel, the architectural crest above a rectangular upholstered back flanked by fluted pilasters with capitals, the upholstered seat with a cushion, the arms and sides in the form of Nereids, carved with female heads decorated with tiaras and wearing strings of beads around thier necks, their bodies with acanthus leaves, paterae and scrolling tails with scales, the stepped base on gadrooned square feet, 118.75cm high, 94cm wide, 78cm deep. Recently adapted from a sofa.
